KING SPRINGS
King has one of the largest and most complete spring inventories in the off-road industry.
King coil springs are manufactured to our specifications in the USA using premium high-tensile chrome silicon wire. Specifically wound for off-road applications, these springs are not repackaged automotive springs. Their spring rates, wire diameters, and coil lengths are developed through extensive real-world testing across a wide range of terrain. These race-winning designs have been proven in demanding conditions, from Baja to Dakar.
All King springs feature closed and ground ends for a flat seating surface and consistent deflection. With an extensive selection to match your application, King provides dependable performance backed by a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser against sagging and breakage. In the rare event of spring failure, the spring will be replaced under the warranty. King combines exceptional product quality with outstanding customer support. Nothing rides like a King.
DECODING KING COIL SPRING PART NUMBERS
King coil spring part numbers identify the spring's internal diameter, length, and spring rate.
Example: SPR375-22-250
- 375: 3.75-inch internal diameter; fits a 3.0-inch shock.
- 22: 22-inch spring length.
- 250: 250 lbs/in spring rate.
The spring rate represents the amount of force, measured in pounds, required to compress a spring by one inch.
SINGLE-RATE AND DUAL-RATE SPRINGS
King shocks are available with multiple coil spring options depending on your application. A single-rate setup uses one coil spring on the shock. As the coil compresses, the force increases at a linear rate. For example, a 300 lbs/in spring requires 300 pounds of force for one inch of compression, 600 pounds for two inches, and 900 pounds for three inches.
A dual-rate setup uses two coil springs mounted on the shock. When both springs have equal rates and compress together, the combined spring rate is approximately half that of either individual spring. As the shock travels one inch, each spring compresses approximately half an inch. With two 300 lbs/in springs, the combined rate is approximately 150 lbs/in.
ADVANCED DUAL-RATE CONFIGURATIONS
Advanced dual-rate configurations combine springs with different rates and secondary travel stops to create non-linear spring characteristics. These setups can provide a softer initial ride while delivering increased firmness as suspension travel progresses.
The available combinations and applications vary depending on your suspension requirements. King's experienced sales technicians can help configure your shocks to deliver optimal ride comfort, handling, and control based on your vehicle, application, and driving style.
