KING SPRINGS
King has one of the largest and most complete spring inventories in the off-road industry.
King coil springs are manufactured to our specifications in the USA using the finest quality, high-tensile chrome silicon wire available. Specifically wound for off-road applications, these springs are not repackaged automotive springs. Their spring rates, wire diameters, and coil lengths have been developed through extensive real-world testing across all types of terrain. King's race-winning designs have been tested in demanding conditions, from Baja to Dakar.
All springs feature closed and ground ends for flat seating and consistent deflection. With an extensive selection to match your application, King delivers reliable performance backed by a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser against sagging and breakage. In the rare event of spring failure, the spring will be replaced under the warranty. King's customer support reflects the same commitment to quality and performance as its products. Nothing rides like a King.
Decoding King Coil Spring Part Numbers:
Example: SPR375-22-250
- 375: 3.75-inch internal diameter spring, designed to fit a 3.0-inch shock.
- 22: 22-inch spring length.
- 250: 250 lbs/in spring rate.
The spring rate represents the amount of force, measured in pounds, required to compress a coil spring by one inch.
King shocks are available with multiple coil spring options to suit different applications. A single-rate spring uses one coil on the shock and compresses at a linear rate. For example, a 300 lbs/in spring requires approximately 300 pounds of force for one inch of compression, 600 pounds for two inches, and 900 pounds for three inches.
A dual-rate setup uses two coil springs mounted on the shock. When both springs have equal rates and compress together, the combined spring rate is approximately half that of either individual spring. As the shock travels one inch, each spring compresses approximately half an inch. For example, two 300 lbs/in springs working together provide a combined spring rate of approximately 150 lbs/in.
More advanced dual-rate configurations combine springs with different rates and secondary travel stops to create non-linear spring characteristics. These setups can provide a softer initial ride while delivering increased firmness as suspension travel progresses compared with a linear spring of similar length.
The available combinations and applications vary depending on your suspension requirements and driving style. King's experienced sales technicians can help you configure your shocks to achieve optimal ride comfort, handling, and control for your specific application.
